IDENTIFIED? Candle Face Victim #18: My Walkman's Final Playlist
FBI Missing Person Report

March 16, 2024

On March 8, 2024, two spirits visited me—a woman and a man. To my astonishment, the woman revealed that the man standing with her was, in fact, her killer. She explained that Candle Face had punished him for defying her orders. Apparently, Candle Face intended for him to take his victim to a remote spot in the forest, but instead, he killed the woman outright. In retaliation, Candle Face took his life. Now, they’re bound together, forced to remain hand in hand until her remains are found.

She recounted a detail that might be key: after he abducted her, he put her in the trunk of his car and drove away. But then, he returned to retrieve a Walkman she’d dropped during the attack. He found it on the road, retrieved it, and disappeared for good. She said the batteries and battery case from her Walkman were still left behind at the abduction site, and finding them would lead to her remains.

A week later, on March 15, 2024, someone left a comment on my blog (which I often refer to as my “Journal”), pointing out that a missing-person case in Georgetown, Texas, strongly resembles Rachel Cooke’s disappearance. Intrigued, I researched Rachel’s story and discovered several unsettling parallels that align with this spirit’s testimony.

There’s a lot of online information about Rachel Cooke, including social media pages dedicated to finding her. KVUE (an ABC affiliate in Austin) is one of the news outlets covering her story. They report that Rachel, who was into cross-country running—something I also enjoyed in my younger days—disappeared while jogging along Neches Trail near her parents’ home in Georgetown, Texas.

Another report, from the Austin American-Statesman, mentions that Rachel had a yellow Walkman with her during that last run. Although there have been persons of interest over the years, no arrests have been made, and this tragic case has remained unsolved for twenty-two years.

Could the spirit who visited me be Rachel Cooke? The similarities are indeed striking. Yet, I encourage caution before jumping to any firm conclusion. The spirit’s testimony aligns with many details of Rachel’s disappearance, but in a world where so many missing-person cases remain open, it’s easy—but potentially premature—to draw definite connections.

For now, this new lead demands a more thorough and careful investigation. In the meantime, I strongly advise my readers not to contact Rachel Cooke’s family directly about this sensitive matter. It’s a delicate situation that may need the attention of qualified professionals if any further steps are warranted.
