Identified? Candle Face Victim #18: The Walkman Left in the Road

On March 8, 2024, two spirits visited me, a woman and a man. To my surprise, the woman told me the man standing beside her was her killer. She said Candle Face had punished him for disobeying her orders. The plan was for him to take her to a remote place in the woods, but instead, he killed her outright. Candle Face killed him in return. Now they’re bound together, hand in hand. She believes that ends only when her remains are found.

She gave me one detail that may be especially important. After he abducted her, he put her in the trunk of his car and drove off. Then he came back for the Walkman she had dropped during the attack. He found it in the road, picked it up, and left again. She said the batteries and battery case from the Walkman were still there at the abduction site, and that finding them would lead to her remains.

A week later, on March 15, 2024, someone left a comment on my blog, which I call my “Journal,” saying that these two Lost Souls may be tied to a missing-persons case in Georgetown, Texas. The missing woman is Rachel Cooke. That caught my attention. I looked into Rachel’s case and found several disturbing similarities to the spirit’s testimony.

There’s a lot of information online about Rachel Cooke, including social media pages devoted to finding her. KVUE, an ABC affiliate in Austin, is one of the outlets that have covered her case. Rachel was a cross-country runner, a sport I also enjoyed when I was younger. Their reporting states she disappeared while jogging along Neches Trail near her parents’ home in Georgetown, Texas.

Another report, from the Austin American-Statesman, says Rachel had a yellow Walkman with her during that final run. Although there have been persons of interest over the years, no arrests have been made, and the case has remained unsolved for twenty-two years.

Could the spirit who came to me be Rachel Cooke? The overlap is striking, but I want to be careful here. Plenty of missing persons cases share the same broad details, and it would be a mistake to force a conclusion too early.

This lead needs more work. In the meantime, I strongly urge readers not to contact Rachel Cooke’s family directly about this. It’s a sensitive matter, and any further steps, if they’re warranted at all, should be handled by qualified professionals.
