Candle Face Chronicles: The Lost Souls

Welcome to Candle Face Chronicles: The Lost Souls, a true paranormal investigation told through two interactive books and real-life cases.

This series follows testimonies from spirits I believe are the Lost Souls, victims of Candle Face, and those who kill for her.

These are documented cases, backed by my thirty-plus years in intelligence analysis, missing persons investigations, and human trafficking cases. I barely survived my own encounter with Candle Face in the mid-1980s.

Now I need your help.

Your Role in the Investigation

As a reader, you play a role in the investigation.

These books were written to enlist your help in solving real cases. Each testimony from a Lost Soul is filled with clues: names, places, dates, and cryptic details that may lead to answers. As of April 2026, my readers and I have likely identified nine of the 45 Lost Souls. With your help, we can identify the rest and maybe even help them find peace.

There are three areas where your involvement is needed:

Locating the Lost Souls' Remains: Every victim was killed, but most of their remains have never been recovered. Their stories may contain overlooked clues about where they were taken or left behind. Your attention to detail could help bring them home.

Identifying Their Killers: Some spirits say that Candle Face manipulated her followers into carrying out the murders. Their testimonies offer scattered details, possibly enough to form a clearer picture of who was involved.

Protecting the Fugitives: Toward the end of Book Two, a new group is introduced. These are the Fugitives: 31 souls who escaped Candle Face's Lair but remain in danger. Candle Face's Master Shadow is searching for them, trying to pull them back. To keep them safe, each has been entrusted to members of the paranormal community and a select group of avid readers. Their energy has been kept separate, scattered across the country, making it nearly impossible for the Master Shadow to locate them. This protection will hold until a more permanent solution is found to free them for good. Your awareness and interpretation of their stories may help keep them safe.

Meet the Lost Souls

Each Lost Soul has a name, a story, and a reason to come forward, even after death.

They visit me at night. Some show up clearly, others appear in pieces. They recount what happened to them and trust me to pay attention. Many of them didn't believe in Candle Face while they were alive. That disbelief cost them their lives.

Their testimonies are real. Their pain is real. And the details they offer might help us figure out what really happened to them.

Meet a Few of The Lost Souls

Here are a few of the Lost Souls. Some provided names. Others didn't. But all of them are asking to be heard. Take your time. Read closely. What they share may help us figure out what happened to them.

Mama’s Last Embrace

This young girl's story centers around her mother and grandmother, the only people who made her feel safe. Candle Face ripped her away from them. Her final memories are filled with love, confusion, and a desperate cry for protection. She speaks often of her "Mama," and her words suggest Candle Face's rage may be rooted in her own connection to family. A dedicated reader may have discovered the girl's identity, proving that the interactive investigation works.

The Torment of Betrayal

A woman in her thirties appeared at the foot of my bed, a man's tie knotted tightly around her neck. Her marriage was falling apart, and she'd started a secret relationship, but it ended with betrayal. Her boyfriend had become loyal to Candle Face. As shadows filled the room, he leaned in and whispered, "She requires devotion, and you don't have it."

The Man Who Ignored the Flyer

He appeared in a sharp suit, his steps echoing on my floor like clockwork. He had built his life around profit and ambition, never making time for anything that didn't serve his image. One night, a man tried to hand him a flyer on a street corner, a warning, maybe, or a plea. He laughed and threw it away. Hours later, alone in his luxury apartment, the lights flickered. Candle Face appeared. She asked him one question: "Do you still disbelieve, businessman?"

Clean Shaven

Cayman appeared with a broken jaw and blood from her mouth. She had survived years of abuse from a husband obsessed with youth and control, until he killed her in a drunken rage. Candle Face had marked her for a later death because of her disbelief, but the husband got to her first. Her name came through broken teeth, and her message was clear: she was never supposed to die that night.

Later, I used remote viewing techniques to witness her murder through the eyes of her killer.

The Pen Pal Letters

A spirit came to me with memories of handwritten letters, a pen pal from San Francisco, and a growing obsession with Candle Face. Her testimony ended with a violent blow to the head and being left near a creek bed. The details she shared closely mirror a real cold case from Central Texas. Whether she's connected to that case or another person who died under similar circumstances remains uncertain, but her visit may be pointing us toward real-world answers.

The Lure of Luling

Dave was a metalhead with big dreams and a tight-knit group of friends. After meeting at a concert in 2000, they started planning a band. Their drummer wanted to embed subliminal messages into their music, using lyrics and reversed audio to serve Candle Face. Dave hesitated. That hesitation cost him his life. His body was never found, but his voice came through clearly: “Ray, my name is Dave, and I’m here to tell you my story.”

Crystal

Crystal worked the streets of North Austin. Tough, self-reliant, and unafraid to fight back, she thought she had control, until one regular client turned possessive and violent. She bit his cheek and escaped, only to be lured back weeks later. That was the last time anyone saw her alive. She names her killer as Kenneth McDuff, the man she says became the Master Shadow after his execution. Now she leads the Fugitives.
